The Audiofy Bookchip^{^TM} format is a compelling alternative to traditional compact discs and cassette tapes!

Bookchips are far more portable than audiobooks on cassettes or CDs.

Bookchips are compact digital memory cards that can hold five, ten, up to fifteen hours of spoken audio. A single Bookchip -- not much larger than a postage stamp -- can hold entire audiobooks that would traditionally require a half-dozen to a dozen compact discs or cassettes.

Multiplatform Plug and Play

One way to listen to Bookchips is our ultra-portable Audiofy Player--it is inexpensive and weighs only a few ounces. But Bookchips also work on many desktop computers, laptops, handheld PDAs and mobile "smartphones" with SD memory card slots.

Along with the Audiofy Player, Bookchips can currently be played on desktop computers and laptops that use the Microsoft Windows operating system (98/ME/2000/XP), Windows Mobile handheld PDAs and smartphones (Pocket PC 2002 operating system and above), and palmOne handheld PDAs and Treo smartphones (Palm OS 5.2 and above).

About Bookchip Players

Four kinds of Bookchip players are available: the Audiofy Player, a Microsoft Windows PC or laptop, a Palm or Pocket PC handheld, and a palmOne Treo or Windows Mobile smartphone. The correct one for you depends on what you do and how much you want to spend.

The Audiofy Player

Of the four kinds, the Audiofy Player is the least expensive solution. Designed to do only one thing--play Bookchips--the Audiofy Player does that simply and inexpensively. If you don't already have a PDA or cell phone, and you don't want to play your Bookchip on a PC, the Audiofy Player is the best way to go. Microsoft Windows PCs and Laptops

PC and laptop computers using Microsoft Windows (98SE up to Windows XP) are also an easy to use solution. As long as your PC has an audio card, all you'll need is an SD Card reader, and you'll be ready to go.

PCs or laptops - whether using speakers or headphones - can give you the best sound of any of the Bookchip players. If you like to listen to audiobooks while you're using your PC, or you travel everywhere with your laptop, this might be the best way to listen to your Bookchip.

PalmOne and Pocket PC handhelds

handheld computing devices You can use a Palm or Pocket PC PDA to store contact information, read eBooks, or even surf the web. They are also an excellent way to listen to your Bookchip. Pocket PCs using Windows Mobile 2002 software or later should work fine as long as they have an SD Card slot (most do). Most Palm PDAs that use Palm OS 5.2 or newer and have a headphone jack should work with your Bookchip.

palmOne Treo and Windows Mobile smartphones

If you're on the go all the time, it's convenient to leave all your devices behind except your cell phone. Bookchips can be used with Palm Treo and Microsoft Windows Mobile smartphones: if you get a call, the Bookchip audio automatically pauses until you finish your conversation. The Palm Treo 600 and 650 can be used with Bookchips, and most Windows Mobile smartphones should work with Bookchips, as long as they have an SD Card slot (a few don't).
