Western Armenian is the language spoken by most of the seven million Diaspora Armenians who live outside their historic homeland. The book contains a resourceful two-way dictionary, an informative grammar section, and a collection of travel-oriented phrases. Armenian has its own unique alphabet, but to facilitate pronunciation, this book uses a common sense Roman transliteration system.

About the author:Nicholas Awde is a freelance writer based in London. Books he has written/edited include The Armenians: People, Culture & History (Bennett & Bloom, 2003): Armenian Perspectives (Curzon Press, 1997); Armenian First Names (Hippocrene Books, 2001). Vazken-Khatchig Davidian is a Diaspora Armenian who lives in London, where he works in legal publishing.
